What do you get when you cross the great outdoors & camping with a wedding? Literally the greatest, most laid back day imaginable. This was hands down the most beautiful wedding ceremony I have photographed, and I have shot over 200 weddings to date!
As cheesy as it might sound, I felt a connection with this couple on our first chat. Desta & Dermot called me after be referred by my good friend & talented photographer Mary Payne. This was their third attempt at planning their wedding. The first wedding they had planned in 2019 was unfortunately postponed due to health issues, Dermot was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodjkins Lymphoma (Which he is now in remission! WOO!!WOO!!) They picked another date in 2020… which as we all know, messed with everyones plans, dang Covid-19. Another date had to be picked (third times a charm!), and incredibly, they pulled it off without a hitch on September 12, 2020! It was truly one of the best days, especially with all of the uncertainty that lead up to it. I feel like 2020 has been terrible and confusing to everyone, but one positive I’ve noticed is I have had a much stronger bond with each of my clients, because I have supported them through this and they have put their trust in me. It’s been a really beautiful thing to see each of these couples keep hope through all of this and to watch their dreams come to fruition despite all the uncertainty. I am so thankful for the time spent at Whispering Springs Wilderness Retreat with these two and their friends & family!
Congratulations to the sweetest, most genuine, madly in love couple. I am so happy our paths crossed!
